2020 Ford Escape Vs 2019 Ford Escape A O

2019 Ford Escape vs 2020 Ford Escape

Waconia Ford is excited to show our customers the recently unveiled 2020 Ford Escape. This new model is the 6th generation of the legendary Ford SUV that has been popular with families for nearly three decades.  To help better compare the similarities and differences between the 2019 Escape and the all new 2020 Escape, we have put together a comparison of the 2020 Ford Escape vs 2019 Ford Escape.

2020 Ford Escape vs 2019 Ford Escape
After a major redesign for model year 2020, the Ford Escape launches right into generation six with a new aerodynamic design on top of enhanced performance, flexibility and technology offerings. Join us as we take a look at what’s new for the redesigned SUV with this comparison of the 2020 Ford Escape and its gen-five predecessor, the 2019 Ford Escape.

For MY 2019, the Escape lineup featured a standard 2.5L iVCT 4-cylinder engine good for 168 hp and 170 lb-ft of torque. That base engine was followed by the available 1.5L EcoBoost® and 2.0L EcoBoost®. Rolling into 2020, the Escape nixes the 2.5L iVCT 4-cylinder, sliding the 1.5L EcoBoost® into the base level with 180 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque.

What’s New in the 2020 Ford Escape?

Cabin Versatility – The Escape opens the new generation with unrivaled interior flexibility. Sliding second-row seats in gas-powered models adjust to allow you to configure your cabin to your needs. When slid all the way back, the seats offer best-in-class maximum second-row legroom. Slid forward, the Escape offers up to 37.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row.

Active Safety Standardized The all-new Escape makes huge strides in driver assistance with a number of add-on safety features becoming standard across the lineup. The list of now-standard Ford Co-Pilot360™ features includes the Lane-Keeping System, Blind Spot Information System® with Cross-Traffic Alert, Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, Auto High-Beam Headlamps and the SOS Post-Crash Alert System™.

Escape Hybrid Back in 2005, the Ford Escape debuted the world’s first hybrid SUV. Moving into 2020, the market pioneer returns to its hybrid roots with class-leading hybrid powertrains. As the name suggests, the new SE Sport Hybrid trim is offered as a hybrid-only model. Ford makes the hybrid powertrain standard on the Titanium as well, though the trim is also available with the gas-only 2.0-liter EcoBoost. Set for release in Spring of 2020, Ford’s first plug-in hybrid variant will be available on Escape S, SEL and Titanium models. Both versions promise best-in-class range, with the standard hybrid aiming for an EPA-estimated range of over 550 miles and the plug-in hybrid targeting an electric-only range of 30+ miles.
