Finding the Right 2020 Ford Explorer in Waconia
If you’re interested in the 2020 Ford Explorer, you probably know that it’s a top SUV. What you may not know is that it comes in several different trim levels. At Waconia Ford, we want our customers to have as much information as they need before they make a purchase, which is why we put together this guide that goes over each one:
Ford Explorer XLT
The Ford Explorer XLT comes with a 300-horsepower turbocharged 2.3-liter, four-cylinder engine. Rear-wheel drive is standard, but 4-wheel drive is available. Cloth upholstery, a 50/50 split-folding third-row bench, and second-row captain’s chairs with power-assist fold are also standard. For the base model, you will get numerous standard tech features, including remote start, four USB ports, a Wi-Fi hot spot, Android Auto™, Apple CarPlay™, satellite radio, and an infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen. Every new Ford Explorer model also comes with Co-Pilot360®, a suite of safety components that includes forward automatic emergency braking, a rearview camera, lane keep assist, and pedestrian detection.
Ford Explorer Limited
The Limited trim has the same engine as the XLT, but wait until you see the upgrades. Inside you’ll find heated and ventilated front seats, leather upholstery, a 10-way power-adjustable front seat, power-folding third-row seats, and heated second-row seats. You will also get a household-style power outlet, a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen stereo, wireless device charging, and voice-activated navigation. In addition, the Limited trim has extra standard safety features, such as lane centering, evasive steering assist, and adaptive cruise control.
Ford Explorer ST
The Ford Explorer ST has a 400-horsepower twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6, which makes it the most powerful of the trims. And if you’re looking for an SUV to put to work – or perhaps to use on some rugged terrain – this is the one for you. Four-wheel drive comes standard, as do a sport-tuned suspension and a tow package. You will also get perforated leather upholstery, active park assist for parallel and perpendicular parking, and reverse brake assist.
Ford Explorer Platinum
If you want the top-of-the-line Ford Explorer, then check out the Platinum trim. This trim also comes with 4-wheel drive and a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine, which produces 365 horsepower. Other standard amenities include rear skid plates, brake assist, active park assist for parallel and perpendicular parking, and a leather-wrapped interior.
